Good day and welcome to Boundary County Community Television. I’m Roger Fraser, Executive Director and I am pleased to officially announce the launch of Boundary County Community Television here in Boundary County Idaho.
Boundary County Community Television has been established as a non profit 501c3 organization with one primary mission - to establish educational television production and broadcasting here in Boundary County. We have worked diligently to achieve this goal, and the groundwork is laid. It has been an exciting process, but the next steps are even more exciting as we invite everyone in Boundary County to participate in our own Community Television Station.
The opportunities for participation are many - operating a television station is an excellent community endeavor as television production and broadcasting draw on virtually any skill set you can name. In addition, the FCC-mandated digital transition, although disruptive in the short-term, is serving to ensure that broadcast television will remain a mainstream, if much altered, mass media platform. This means that not only are we able to offer practical experience in traditional television production and broadcast, we also are actively involved in utilizing the latest technologies. In fact, much of our intended focus will be toward effectively harnessing these new technologies.
